Marathon #17 – 11/04/2012 – FRIULI: Lignano Sabbiadoro – Bibione

Lignano Sabbiadoro/Bibione/Caorle area is one of the main summer resorts in Northern Italy. When I was a child, Bibione (that is actually in the Veneto region) used to be our summer holiday location and I remember the town being huge, with a lot of children building sand castles during the day and playing on the rides at nights. Despite being only 6 at the time, I clearly remember our hotel and I have some vague memories of the owner of the hotel too… weird. I am curious to see if running there I will recognise other places and what feeling the town will give me with grown up eyes.

 
 
 
 
 

MARATHON No 17 : MAP

This marathon is very flat, we start from Lignano Sabbiadoro town centre and we run along the “lungomare” to pass Bibione and the do a big loop back to finish in Bibione’s town centre. Holiday destinations are great places to run as they are usually very entertaining (lots of people around, restaurants, bars, attractions) and you get distracted from the actual running and fatigue. So bring it on!

Km 10 – ore 8:25 (expected) : Lignano Riviera

Km 18 – ore 9:10 (expected) : Bevazzana

Km 31 – ore 10:20 (expected) : Lido del sole

Km 36 – ore 10:50 (expected) : Bibione Pineda

Finish Km 42 – ore 11:20 (expected) : Finish @ Corso del Sole Bibione
