Beautiful, strong, with a kind heart and.. fast! The female team has all it takes to take home the record in style and make a huge contribution to Camp Quality families.


  • Laura James

    Laura has been running competitively for 10 years and has raced everything from 5km on the track, to the marathon. Despite her many injury setbacks, her love and passion for running continues.


  • Cassie Fien

    Cassie is a member of the Royal Australian Air Force . She is an elite runner at the marathon distance, multiple times winner of the Sydney City2Surf, and Australian Half Marathon champion.


  • Lauren Hamilton

    After fighting a long battle with an eating disorder, Lauren returned to running 4 years ago and has shaved her 10k time to 34.08, winning the Sydney Harbour 10k and producing a 9.49 3000m and 16.24 5000m on track.


  • Renee Everett

    Renee has trained with HuRTS for the last 5 years. Due to their camaraderie, her love of running has grown. She’s also a keen cyclist and is the women’s ambassador for Parklife Cycling Club.


  • Fiona Yates

    Fiona began running 5 years ago. What began on an indoor treadmill quickly progressed to weekly park runs, numerous 10km’s, halves and finally her first marathon!


  • Cathy Liu

    Since taking up running 4yrs ago, Cathy has come to love racing in anything from 5km to half marathons. She trains with the HuRT Squad, for both the great company and the performance boost!


  • Jacqueline O’Connor

    Originally from Ireland, Jacqueline loves the social side of running from marathons, 10km, and more recently the trails at Six Foot Track marathon. Reigning HuRT Squad Ladies Beer Mile Champion! Bring it !


  • Ruth McGuinness

    Since making the move from her native Ireland to Australia in 2013, Ruth has completed 4 marathons and represented CBA in the JP Morgan World Championships in NY. Ruth loves pilates and is an Elixir Pilates Instructor.


  • Ellen Waterman

    Ellen is a triathlete who is always up for an adventure and has competed at the Age Group World Triathlon Championships and JP Morgan World Championship in NY.


  • Emily Donker

    Emily is a competitive runner and triathlete, with half marathon being her favourite race distance. She has represented Australia at the World University Cross Country Championships and Triathlon Championships.


  • Sophie Ryan

    Sophie caught the long distance running bug as a teenager & has been competing on a state, national and international level for over 10 years. Stepped up to marathon running in 2015 her PB is now 2:45:49


  • Lidia Scotto di Vetta

    To date I’ve completed several half marathons, 2 marathons and a 50km trail run – this was pre-kids and husband’s crazy projects (such as running 24 hours on treadmill).

The Record

The female team absolutely destroyed the previous record with over an hour spare! This goes to show the quality of the runners and their determination. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, with a few hiccups, injuries and last minute changes. Captained by the amazing Laura James, the team delivered an impeccable race to reach 346.24km.
